Biomolecular Nanophotonics:

Plasmonics (photon induction of resonant plasmons/polaritons) on novel thin films for biosensors and measuring viral protein-cell interactions in gene therapy; and on nanoparticles for optothermal induction, thermal therapy and gene amplification.
