Research
- Development of biogeochemical acid mine drainage mathematical models in collaboration with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management that describe humidity cell experiments and actual waste rock dump sites.
- Investigating the multicomponent adsorption of heavy metals from waste waters using immobilized biomass beads. Development of multicomponent mathematical models describing batch adsorption and column operation.
- Development and modeling of an improved system for the oxygenation of anchorage-dependent mammalian cells using perfluorocarbons and perfluoroalkylated proteins.
Other Areas of Interest
- Supercritical fluid extraction of plants
- Removal of Selenium from wastewaters using a redox process
- Measurement of high osmotic pressures
- Enhanced oil recovery - principally polymer flooding and alkaline flooding
