Exchange Calendaring

Exchange Overview
Microsoft exchange is the campus email/calendaring solution, this guide is designed to show how to correctly configure MS Outlook as an exchange client.
Requirements
- A valid unid
- Windows XP/2000
- Outlook 2003
- Outlook 2007
MS Outlook 2003
- Select Start --> Control Panel --> Mail --> Profiles
- Enter Umail as Profile name click OK

- From the list select "Add a new e-mail account"
- Select "Microsoft Exchange Server"
- Exchange Server Settings:
Microsoft Exchange Server: public.xds.umail.utah.edu
check Use Cached Exchange Mode
Username: u0******

- Select More Settings....
Select Connection Tab
check "Connect to my Exchange Mailbox using HTTP

- After the check the box will ungrey "Exchange Proxy Settings..." select it
- The Box Exchange Proxy Settings will appear
In the box "https://" www.umail.utah.edu
Check "Mutally authenticate the sessions when connecting with SSL"
"In the Box Principal name for proxy server:" msstd:www.umail.utah.edu
Check "On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP"
Check "on slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP"
Move the drop down on "Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange: Basic Authentication
- Click OK and then OK again until you are back to the first screen and select "Check name"
- Put in your CIS password
- If it comes back with your name underlined you are good
- When you open outlook it will prompt the you for your CIS username/password.

- Once inside Outlook you need to go to Calendars --> Open a shared Calendar
- Type in the name of the person whos calendar you want to see.
