Network Drive Mapping
From Chesupportwiki
Basic Drive Mapping
Use this to create a simple quick network mapping to a local drive:
Right click on My Computer and choose "Map network drive"
Choose any letter available. If possible a letter of significance should be chosen to help remember where the drive is mapped. In the folder field you will type out the name of the server, for example if you are mapping the Staff directory from a server named homer:
Choose M:
and for the folder type:
\\humboldt.chemeng.utah.edu\Staff
And you are done! You can bypass the mapping option by browsing the network through My Network and navigating to Homer and the Staff folder, but for continued access, easy copy/paste options and other simplicities it is a good idea to map a particular drive.
