Full-time Summer Engineering Internship Opportunity
Oscilla Power, Inc. (www.oscillapower.com), a renewable energy company focused on novel generator development based on “smart” materials, has an immediate opportunity for a qualified candidate with experience and knowledge in materials engineering. The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior in Materials Science, Physics, or Engineering (or a similar discipline) and must have done project work or have actual job experience working in a lab. We are looking for responsible and knowledgeable individuals, who are looking to develop and utilize their engineering skills in a fast-paced small company environment. The Intern will interact with Oscilla’s senior engineering and technical management staff who will provide requirements, guidelines and feedback on an on-going basis. He or she will also be required to write progress reports or provide informal updates on project status and results. If you are interested in this opportunity, you must be able to show examples of laboratory work from previous employment or academic project work and demonstrate a strong command of basic engineering principles and materials science.
This internship will provide the employee with a strong background in experimental measurement techniques, including strain gauge, load cell, pressure transducer, flux and magnetometry (sense coil and Hall Chip), data acquisition, post-processing and presentation, and will also serve as an introduction to the field of renewable energy.
