air_quailty_group Chemical Engineering researchers were key participants in the joint University of Utah/Utah Division of Air Quality Workshop, Air Quality in Utah: Science for Solutions, held on January 13th. More than 200 people attended the workshop, including legislators, community and business leaders and interested citizens. The expectation is that this research will guide the state in selecting the most promising strategies to address its air quality challenges. Prof. Terry Ring and Jon Wilkey presented their research on oil and gas production in the Uintah basin and its link to the basin’s high ozone levels. Other chemical engineering highlights included the air-quality sensors being developed by Tony Butterfield and Kerry Kelly and the air quality game led by Kerry Kelly and the University’s Engineering Arts and Entertainment Program.
