Abstract

This will be an open forum for students to offer constructive suggestions and to ask questions about any aspect of the undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering. The seminar will start with a brief review of our accreditation process. The Department will be reviewed next fall by ABET (abet.org) and the reviewer will be meeting with a group of students.

Short Biography

Dr. Silcox is a Professor (Lecturing) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. He has served as Associate Chair since 2000. Before joining the University in 1987, he worked as a research engineer and group leader for Energy and Environmental Research Corporation. His current research interests include air pollution and the chemistry of mercury in combustion flue gases. He enjoys teaching and his current assignments include thermodynamics and air pollution control engineering.
